Ever notice how the taste of home, comfort, and joy never really change no matter how far we travel or how long it takes us to return? For me, the journey of RoziEats is deeply intertwined with the rich culinary traditions passed down through four generations of women in my family. It all began on the shores of Africa, where the essence of our recipes was born.
Growing up in Liberia, I would sit wide-eyed at our dining room table, watching my mother decorate homemade birthday and wedding cakes, and prepare desserts for heads of states, family, and friends. My mother’s kitchen was a place of wonder, where obedience and creativity flourished side by side. After school, I would eagerly join my grandmother in her bakery, mesmerized by the art of baking. Her constant movement, smiling, and humming as if conducting an orchestra, left an indelible mark on my soul.
The Culinary Path of Generations
Like my great-grandmother, grandmother, and mother, the women in my family have been pioneers in creating and maintaining home-based kitchens where traditional, from-scratch recipes were cherished and innovated. Each of us, in our own way, has contributed to raising the bar in culinary expectations, while also positioning ourselves and our businesses as instruments of formalizing and delivering excellence within the hospitality industry.

My grandmother led as an educator of the arts, an entrepreneur, and a restaurateur. My mother continued this legacy as a bakery skills training instructor, food stylist, and restaurateur. I have carried the baton as a restaurateur and baker, providing culinary training and education to help women create strong and healthy foundations for themselves.
A Fusion of Cultures and Flavors
My life has been a fusion of many cultures and a passion for its food. This journey has spanned three continents and the Caribbean. After a coup in Liberia, our family relocated to the USA. Each new state we lived in introduced my palate to its regional fare, solidifying my understanding of the similarities between African history, southern cooking, and the versatility of basic ingredients across cultures.
My life has been a fusion of many cultures and a passion for its food.
At 14, we were reunited with our parents in New York. This reunion delivered a reintroduction to eating African food and, most importantly, my tutelage in the art of Liberian cooking. My high school and college years in New York were enriched by a diverse group of international friends, whose culinary traditions I was fortunate to experience and learn from.
